VRS Postures: StepUp
This exercise is an
excellent strength builder for the lower extremities. Its motions
closely resemble cycling.
Muscles: All lower Extremity Muscles:
especially quad, thigh, and hip muscles.
Instructions:
-
|
Begin with the barbell on the shoulders. Place one
foot onto the edge of a strong bench, preferably approximatly 35
cm high.
|

|
|
In a smooth motion, lift the body up with the foot until
the leg is fully extended. Do not rest the other foot on the
bench.
Lower slowly back to the ground.
Continue all reps of one leg before changing to the
other.
|

|
Cautions:
Because heavy weights can be used, this exercise may be straining for
anyone with back difficulties. In addition, balance is needed to
complete the movement. A spotter is highly recommended.
